"Excellent place to stay for a week skiing"
5 of 5 starsReviewed August 15, 2012

Very clean and comfortable.
Everything we needed.
The spa cabin is great.
Free Wi-Fi and free DVD library.
Donald was a very helpful host.
It is an easy drive to the ski field and the road is quite good.
You can catch a shuttle bus if you want.
Lots of restaurants to choose from.
Nice walking / biking track to Horopito.
We also did TONGARIRO RIVER RAFTING http://www.trr.co.nz/ and highly recommend.
Hint the skiing was better midweek, less crowded.

“Family friendly, clean and welcoming!”
4 of 5 starsReviewed March 31, 2012

We spent two nights in a two bedroom unit which had a glorious view of 'the mountain'. Donald was friendly and welcoming; he obviously knows the area and was generous and forthcoming with information and maps. The reception office stocks dvd's and games for children, the unit was recently renovated, spacious, and spotless. We were very impressed by the amount of crockery and kitchen gear. Our personal preference is for a more abundant, generously powered shower, but we are very aware that for $150/night we were getting an absolute bargain in a brilliant location. We will be back.

“Great value, friendly staff and well located.”
5 of 5 starsReviewed March 2, 2012 From New Castle Australia

We visited the Ohakune Court Motel for one night in Feb 2012 based on the positive Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed.

Check-in was very friendly, we were given a map of Tongariro National Park and were recommended a walk to the Waitonga Falls which was fantastic. We then had dinner in Ohakune at "The Mountain Rocks" bar which was great too. I just wish we had the time to stay longer and explore the area more!

Overall we were very happy with our stay and would recommend to others.

Room Tip: Book directly on their website and you will receive a free wi-fi token - was very useful for us.
“Comfortable, friendly and convenient”
4 of 5 starsReviewed December 28, From Sydney Australia

Our visit was between Christmas and New Year, so while the town itself was fairly quiet (only The Cypress Tree open for dinner) the motel was open. Like many others we chose it for the winning reviews and were not disappointed. A great location close to the riverside walk, quiet and surrounded by birds with awe inspiring views of the snow capped mountain. Room was v comfortable with plenty of space and a well equipped kitchenette. We borrowed a free DVD for the evenings entertainment too. Highly recommended - you will be comfortable here.

“excellent customer service”
5 of 5 starsReviewed March 18, 2010 From Victoria

Our group of 10 stayed in this motel for 3 days of our 14 day trip to the North island and were very impressed with our hosts friendliness and helpful attitude. Nothing was too much trouble. This is a middle of the range motel as far as facilities are concerned but we had everything we needed for self catering and it was so peaceful and quiet after our very noisy stay in Taupo. Also the 3 person communal spa was heavenly for weary bones after our bush walking.
Great value for money.

“Pleasureable Weekend”
5 of 5 starsReviewed March 9, 2010 From New Zealand

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The owner was most helpful assisting us with our late check-in. He also organised mountain bikes for us and had plenty of local knowledge to make our weekend enjoyable. The motel has recently changed hands and is in the process of being refurbished by the new owner. We intend to go back later in the year. If you are looking for a clean, tidy and cared for place to stay with helpful hosts, then this is it.
